I'm gonna take my car to the shop and have them install HD Torsen and Richmond 3.73s. The shop says its gonna cost me about $400 for the installation. Does this seem right?

Ummmm... OK, if that is what they say. Why don't you try a few different shops and see what they say instead of asking people who neither live in your state, nor do that for a living!

What parts are they including? When I had mine done there was an installation kit and I had bearing replaced. Including those parts mine cost around $350 to $400 as I remember.
I agree with Biochem, check around and see what other shops charge for the same work.

Installation labor shouldn't cost more than $100. I can get it done in my town for $90.

i think it is around 200 bills in my town if you bring the install kit with you which is around another 100 to 140 bills.

Drive-in to drive-out labor should be in the $300 range, depending on what the shop labor rates are in your area; it'a about 4 hour job, at a typical $75/hr, there's your labor charge. Of course, materials and parts are extra.
Definitely check around; don't necessarily go with the cheapest place (just like you wouldn't get your triple bypass surgery done by the lowest bidder!) but at least make sure that the place that you want to do the work is within reason.
Chris's price would apply if you were taking a bare housing to somebody and just having a gear set up in it. That's a little different from drive-in to drive-out.

There aren't many shops here that will do that kind of work and this is the most reliable one where I live. I have everything I need expect the installation kit which the shop provides, therefor they told me ~$400. I haven't tried calling the Chevy dealer but they're prices are always high. I guess it wouldn't to find out. Also, I shouldn't hear any whining if installed correctly, right?

There should not be much if any whining when it is done. Some gear manufactures and gear sets are more prone to gear noise. You may experience a little whine when you get it back and I would not be concerned. If you do have a little noise let them know right away and if it get worse then I would be concerned there is a problem.
