Need opinions on 4:10 gears for my formula, I have a TCI 700R and if I put 4:10's will I still beable to drive it on the interstate with out hurting anything? I have no idea what gears are in it now but I can run down the highway at 85mph in overdrive at 2,000rpm

No way will you beable to go 85 @2000rpm's with 4.11 gears,You will be running around 3100 rpm with those gears at that @85 in OD. I would stick with 3.42 to 3.73 for a driver, They are a good gear all around.. Kevin

 

If you are running a 700R4 the 4th gear is .7:1 With 4.11's you will be running at 2488 RPM's at 65 MPH. (235 55R16's) and 3254 at 85 mph. Assuming the TC is locked.

If your 4th gear is differnet from stock letme know and let me know an tell me what size tires you are running and I'll get you exactly what RPM's you'll be running.

FYI:
3.73 gears (trans in 4th gear)
65 MPH - 2258 RPM
85 MPH - 2953 RPM

3.42 gears (trans in 4th gear)
65 MPH - 2071 RPM
85 MPH - 2708 RPM

What gears do I have now? I can run 85mph in 3rd gear around 2000rpm. It sucks my car is geared so funny it is strickly a hi-way car right now. I would like you to email that spread sheet. SO if you had my car what gear would you run, like I said I would love to have a car that would run half way ok in the quarter mile,

That should probably be 85 mph in 4th around 2000 RPM, not 3rd. It sounds like you have something like a 2.77.
