Car: 88 Monte SS
Engine: Super-rammed L-98 383
Transmission: T-56 6-Speed
Axle/Gears: 8.5" G-BODY G-80 3.73
You can buy a NEW T-56 from http://www.sallee-chevrolet.com/Chev...ons/gmt56.html
Thes is nothing wrong with a "Junkyard" setup. BTW, the tranny alone is like $2995 and you will still need pedals, starter, crossmember, all bolts, interior and exterior booth and other things. The MOST FEASIBLE thing is to GET used unit and assembly for $1000-$1400. For the above price, you could buy a GREAT SET of AFR 190's and that used T-56 and assembly. HTH's
------------------
88 Monte SS 355 TPI/LT-4 HOT CAM/AFR Hydra-rev/ T-56 6-Speed/1-3/4" full length headers/3" X-PIPE assembly/ 8.5" G-80 rear with 3.73 gears.

Yeah, go to www.spohn.net He has complete change overs for both versions of the T56 and has some really nice Crossmembers and Torque arms. Also if you go to www.skulte.com he has a nice crossmember if you are using the LT1 T56 with the stock torque arm.
