Looking for Clutch cap
I am looking for at least a cap to the clutch reservoir for my 1984 Trans Am. I've tried looking in parts stores, catalogs and even junkyards with no luck. Mine is cracked and is currently being sealed with duct tape. As any good mechanic knows water and/or air and DOT3 fluid don't mix. The problem I've been running into in Junkyards is just about every third gen I've found in the yards are automatics.
Anyone know where I can find the cap or the reservoir (its mount is cracked because of weathering outside for years without a hood on it)?
Thanks

even if I did try the dealer i doubt they will have any. Most only keep parts for cars up to ten years old. I guess I am stuck with duct tape and Ebay hope I get lucky.

Re: Looking for Clutch cap
isnt the cap the same for the 93-97 cars as well?
Re: Looking for Clutch cap
I've grabbed several of those caps off 4th gens in the junkyard, and they're identical as far as I can tell. It's usually pretty easy to find a V6/5 speed, 4th gen f-body in the yards. That'd probably be your best bet for finding one easily and inexpensively. Re: Looking for Clutch cap
Hey guys. Thought I'd bump this post up with some new info. I was at the boneyard the other day, and I noticed the reservoir caps on the mid-80's Ford Rangers/Broncos, etc. have the exact same cap as our cars. All the GM cars were completely picked over, but there was probably a dozen Ford trucks where the clutch stuff was completely untouched. I grabbed about 3 or 4 of them. Heck they even had color choices, the typical white plastic ones, and solid black ones!
Several of the reservoirs I looked at were identical to ours too.
