NEED HELP!!!! SRTA trans just installed but sucks
I just had the local GM dealer here in Mesa, AZ put a SRTA trans in my 1992 350 B4C. Actually this is the 2nd one since the first one they had in had no overdrive. This one I believe is shifting way early as well but at least it has overdrive. TV cable is adjusted correctly but the car is shifting before 4000 rpms @ wot on the 1-2 and at 4000 rpms on the rest. Hell the original trans felt better. Any idea's will help before I take it back.

Hey whats up partner?
The problem your having is probaly the governor. That trans may be out of a caprice or regular passenger car so that's why the shifts are so low. To fix u need to change the springs on the governor to lighter ones. Its a very time consuming job because as u change the springs U have to put everything back together & take a test drive until U get it right!

Well the car is back at the dealer again. This time they are going to play with the govner etc. They thought just adjusting the tv cable would satisfy me. They keep blaming the problem on the valve bodies. This is like the 3rd trans in a row from GM with problems like this.
