vibrating tranny?

I just swapped an old 2 piece rear main seal engine for a 1 piece rear main seal. I noticed when I got a new flexplate, that the mark on the old one that was used to line it up to the torque converter was in a different spot than the new one. If I put this on wrong, would that cause my car to vibrate very badly at about 2200 rpms or higher? It only shakes when I'm in gear. I'm at about my wits end trying to find out why my car is shaking so bad.

i think if you had a flex plate vibration you'd have it all the time. did you use the flex plate for the one piece sea lengine? there is a slight differance between 1 piece and 2 piece flex plates. all the bolts tight? trans mount not broke? drive shaft installed correctly?

Upon further examination, I think that the vibration is there all the time, it just gets real bad at about 60 MPH. I never payed real close attention to it.

I never touched the driveshaft, and the tranny mount was replaced by the previous owner in about 97. I'm strongly suspecting that I should bolt the flexplate down in a different manner.
