Replacing clutch - any tips or pointers?
Hey guys,
Replacing my clutch soon, since this is my first time attempting this job I would really appreciate it if you have any suggestions or cautions to go with this job.
I'm replacing it because A) its probably really old and more importantly B) it doesn't seem to engage properly (not happy shifting into reverse).
I've just replaced the slave cylinder, and I believe my hydraulics are all good.
A few questions I had were:
1) Do I have to remove the axle coils to properly take off the torque arm? If so, what is the best position to leave the rear end (since it gets dropped to remove the springs) to take off the torque arm? Just where you left it from removing the coils?
2) When looking at the clutch fork and ball stud, how will you be able to tell if either of these are causing poor engagement problems?
3) I heard the torque arm will snap up into the tunnel when you remove it?
4) Is it OK to remove one of the tranny bolts as to match it for studs(for supporting the tranny while removing)??
I think thats it for now,
Thanks for any help!
