I want my rearend to jump sideways when i take off, what do i need

Im a newbie, and have pretty much no mechanical experience, so...
I see these car's all over my town, and when they take off, there rearends kick to the right or left a little..
What would I need to make mine do the same?
I have a 305 TBI, 700R4 auto..no shiftkit..
I own a shift kit, but it isn't installed.
It's a "TransGo NoYoYo SysKoKal" system correction and calibration kit. Would that help performance, or would it just correxct slippage, which I don't have?

Its not a trick rearend its pure torque!
One tire will hook up and pull the back of the car in that direction while the ohter tire spins. A strait launch is more desireable unless you want to show off

just a little bit of physics here...start paying attention to which direction they're kicking out. you'll notice that they ALWAYS go to the right. unless they are doing a burnout in reverse

when your tires are spinning (both of them) the rotational acceleration of the wheels, commonly misphrased as "centrifugal acceleration" yeilds a force to the LEFT. this force acts on the ground...equal and opposite...car kicks to the RIGHT!

class adjourned

Clem

BTW, SSC is right, lots of torque and a posi. the key is to spin BOTH tires at the same time!

supercharger will give you the most HP and TQ. but that will also run you about 3000.00 plus you will have to install some gears and a posi that rear end so you dont kill your right hand rear tire!. have fun man, and DONT KILL YOURSELF.

Not to sound like an A**hole, But do you know how to power brake? Your setup should at least spin the tires to 20!
The cheapst mod is a cam swap dont go over 220@.50 that could be bad unless you do other mods.

Yes, I know how to powerbrake. I have bounced my rearend off a curb sideways from about 6 feet away while powerbraking, (not that I meant to)
I have read that a cam was the best mod, especially in the 305. If I took it to a garage, how much do you think it would cost?
Or where do you all think it would be the cheapest place to get a cam swapped?

a camshaft change is going to cut down low end torque, making it harder to spin tires

Not necessarily! thats why i said go below 220 it3, you should have a roller cam as "OE" just get a replacement +1 or RV some rv cams besdies giving more power actually improve gas mileage. its about 180$ for a roller cam"not including new roller lifters" and about 140$ for a good melling cam including new lifters and pushrods. you can get more cam profiles if you loose the roller cam. a cam instalation should take a mechanic about 6 hours so 500$ should be max for a cam & instalation.

Why in GOD's name would you ever find a reason to lose a roller cam (unless going to a solid roller?)

Seems like a backasswards confrragglement to me.
