lockup and ecm? help

i'm converting from tpi to carburated and i'd like to know if leaving the computer and harness intact would keep the lockup working or am i forced to wire up a manual lockup. I would rather leave the computer hooked up if it will continue to operate the fuel pump and lockup function on the trans. I know most would say rip out the harness and computer, but if it works then why take it out. I'm not really concerned with extra clutter. Any info appreciated.

Re: lockup and ecm? help

i'm assuming that the computer tells the trans when to lock up and unlock. I'd rather let it keep doing it than having to wire something up. Am i wrong about the computer?

Re: lockup and ecm? help

Computer won't be able to lock converter once it loses the feeds from the TPS and related sensors. Check sticky in carb forum on alternate methods of providing lockup.
