Question about tranny hard lines connected to radiator...
I just replaced my radiator myself (as I sit here bleeding all over the keyboard), and I was having trouble getting the top transmission line to tighten up so I left it kinda half-assed and decided to drive away... (I got it tighter than my hand could loosen so I thought it might be okay) ...but noticed later after I parked that it had been leaking a little bit. (needless to say I took it back off and re-tightened it so it no longer leaks)
Was that just antifreeze that was leaking out? or was it transmission fluid?? (yes, I'm new at this car stuff) A buddy of mine told me it might have been transmission fluid so I'm wondering if I should check my tranny fluid, and how I go about doing that, because I have an A4 and it's been slipping inbetween 1st and 2nd anyway so I'm kinda paranoid about my tranny right now...

There is so many ways to check transmission fluid it hurt to think about it.
This is what I do, I don't know if it's right, but hey it's better than nothing.
Drive the car a mile or two, go through all the gears, no hard driving, just normal. Stop the car put it in park with the engine running check the fluid. It's the dipstick near the back. Transmission fluid is red, just so you know you are checking the right stick.
If it's low add just a little at a time(pint or less), you don't want to overfill it.

keith5 is right but, check it first before the drive make sure it is in the middle of the fill and full marks. that way you know you have sufficiant fluid and second it allows the fluid to expand to a safe level when it heats up.
