If one is good... will 2 be better? Tranny cooler idea help -->
I just got a Griffin radiator for a good price off a friend, and I needed a new radiator before summer hit again (it's 92F out today :eek
.
Right now, I have a medium size tranny cooler in-line with the stock cooler (which I assume is that radiator in front of my stock one). Even with my 3000 stall, I rarily see above 150-170F fluid temps. But with this new radiator, I will not have enough room to run it and the stock tranny cooler. I do have another med-large aftermarket cooler which is larger then the one I run now along with the stock cooler.
Should I run both aftermarket tranny coolers, or just the bigger one?

Not sure on your post, but the stock cooler is built into the radiator(you can't see it). Are you talking about the AC condenser? Does your new radiator have a built in tranny cooler(it will if it is for a automatic car)?
I would run one big cooler rather than 2 small ones because of the additional rubber hoses(more stuff to leak/break).

Yeah, looking at it now, it does run in to the radiator. The new radiator is only for coolent.
If I ditch the AC... I shouldn't need the radiator-like thing in front of the coolent radiator, right?

Yes if you ditch the AC you will have more room. A good, large aftermarket tranny cooler should work OK for you. I've seen people use the ac condenser as the tranny cooler by hooking the tranny lines to it. I doubt it would cool as good as a tranny cooler though.

It is a good size cooler. It has about 1/2" tube that winds back and forth about 4 times with fins (like the radiator). The other one I have now has about 6 flat tubes that are about 1" wide and all start/finish from the same hole.

Believe it or not, the tranny cooler is acturally primarially (sp) a tranny fluid heater! GM cars are set to run water to the heater core first, then by the tranny fluid cooler lines so the fluid gets warmed up faster. Tranny fluid is a lousy lubricant at low temperatures, you do not want the fluid too cool, don't over do it!
