700r4 to TH400 Swap

I am swapping my 700r4 for a th400. I was wandering if anyone has done this and if they can give me some insight. Like will the trans mount be the same, also the drive shaft still work and what to do about the torqe arm. Any information would be much help. Thanks.

Crossmember needs to be farther back. Driveshaft needs to be shorter. Different tranny yoke is required.

Re: 700r4 to TH400 Swap

shifter detents will be different but the arm should fit onto the trans-just not indicating properly. make sure it holds in park and doesn't start in park or neutral or running someone over might happen---doh! might need a different flexplate if yours is a dual pattern it should be fine. tape off the square plug and all should be o.k... the wire on the th400 doesn't need to be hooked up for it to work-it's just for passing gear (kickdown). stephen correct on all else.

not only do the stickys explain the search feature, there's also this:

You will need a remote mounted torque arm. If you're making even close to enough power to need a th400, you're well past the stock suspension components anyway.
