.500 boost valve........?

1. what exactly does this firm up, the 2-3 shift?
2. the vette servo firms the 1-2, right?
3. where is the boost valve located and how hard is it to install??

Transmission: 700r4
Increases pressure on all shifts(pretty sure). Located right next to the pick-up tube for the tranny filter. One snap-ring and it falls out.
