Bell swap on a T-5
Hey guys, I come here because there are a few similarites between the F-bodies and the truck I have (S10).
My truck has a T-5, however it is a 1994, and I think this year used the Ford style bolt pattern where the bellhousing is bolted to the transmission.
It currently has a I4 bellhousing on it, but apparently you can swap the bellhousing.
Does anybody have any photos of a V8 bellhousing that came on a V8 T5?
I may be able to redrill the holes or whatnot and get it to fit.
I know with the F-bodies the shifter is tilted I think 15* towards the driver? this would not work in my truck as the shifter would hit the steering wheel, so I'm told.
I have a 305 that I may stick in the truck, and I'd like to keep the transmission that is in it.
The 305 I think is a 86 or 87, has centerbolt valve covers and a quadra jet, and hei. It may be older but I'm not sure, I'm pretty sure its out of a Monte or F-body.
I am sorta new to transmission and stuff, I replaced clutches but never went any further than that.
I think its a 10 or 11" clutch I have to use with my trans when I go with a V8, I think its a F-body clutch.
Not sure about the pressure plate.
It has an external slave I think.
I was just looking for your guys imput... I don't really know all the components..
I think the rear end that is in my truck is a 10 bolt, which if I remember right is the same as the F-bodies aswell, I remember something about putting posi's and stuff in from F-bodies, it has a 3.73 rear end.

I think you can use a Mcleod 8630 steel SFI housing. It has both chevy and ford patterns.

Thanks for not telling me to GTFO off the forum... I was worried you guys might.

I'm a bowtie boy like everybody else here.
The bell on summit racing is $414.... is there any cheaper options?
