Broke bolts on transmission support bar
Like it says broken AND stripped out bolts and "nuts". I had recently been fixing my tranny and had to remove the support bar. Upon inspection I noticed one of the heads of the bolts had rusted and broke off. The other bolts were very hard to get out except for the mount bolt. When I put the bolts back in, it seemed they just spun freely after a certain point. Now one side of the bar is hanging down. I do know how to get the broken bolt out but what do I do about the the stripped out nuts/bolts. It seems damn near impossible since the chassis is like an enclosed square tube. The only thing I can think of is to weld the support bar on, but that wouldnt be strong enough and it would be a dumb thing to do. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Sinnce there isn't a way to get to the nut on the other side I would re-tap. That would be the easiest thing to do.
Remember, when tapping, do not keep twisting the tap without backing the tap out maybe a quarter to half turn to break lose the cuttings.

Drill out the old treads, then tap (create new threads).

Re: Broke bolts on transmission support bar
is it the long bolts that go through the extension housing? You could pull the driveshaft, remove the four bolts that hold the extension housing to the trans and slip the housing off the end of the trans. That will allow replacing the bolts-just assemble in reverse order. If you jack from the rear of the car not much trans oil if any will come out.
