terrible shaking while engaging clutch

I just dropped in my 305HO I replaced the old clutch and pressure plate and throwout bearing. The motor seems to run fine. When i let the clutch out it will jerk horribly, as if the cars brakes are locked or something and i have to go to about 2200 rpms while letting it out to keep it from dying. Once it is fully out it seems to go fine. Before i swaped the motor and clutch it was as smooth as could be. What could be my problem.

i'm pretty sure you can't get the disk in backwards on them. did you resurface the flywheel? change the throw out bearing? no air in the hydrolics?

The clutch i put in was the 10.4" and the one that came out was a 10.4" The flywheel seemed smooth so i didn't resurface it. Do you think it could be warped or something? I did change the throwout bearing. I don't think there is air in the line but i will check to be sure.
