Tranny cooler on 700R4

Would it be safe 2 use a racing cooler like TCI or HD 6 pass cooler from Perma-Cool only, without going through the radiator 1st on a modified 700R4?

No, I don't know if it will cool enough or not, but I do know you can OVERCOOL fluid if you run it through the radiator before the aux. cooler. the best and safest way to do it is to plumb so the fluid goes from trany to cooler to radiator nad back to trany in that order

You find me someone who has overcooled their trans? Just about impossible. If you are going to use the radiator cooler too, then have it go thru it first then the external cooler. The radiator basiclly serves as a pre heater, I recommend (except in areas that go below zero degrees farenheit frequently) that you go thru the external cooler only. Hope This Helps!!!

It is best to run a TruCool cooler and bypass the radiator. Unless you are running in below zero temps you will never be too cool. Some factory trucks are coming through W/O going through the radiator.

Summit has a good one for like $30 and I am happy with it.

I WOULD RATHER PUSH A CAMARO THAN DRIVE AN IMPORT

1983Z28 350w/ edelbrock performer RPM power package with 64cc aluminum heads, dynomax shorty headers, 700R-4 with shift kit, 750cfm carb, edelbrock 3" exhaust system, ASCD SS hood, 16" IROC rims.

future mods:
completely done over suspension, black paint with flames, Hurst shifter, dakota digital gauge package, procharger supercharger.

Should be fine if you use just the cooler.
I like to run through bolth just for the extra pint of fluid.

If you really want overkill use an ac condenser unit as a trans cooler and get an extra quart or two of fluid.
