When we were racing last night, the damn thing wont shift into 3rd at full throttle. I have to shift it, let off the gas for a sec, then hit the gas again before it shifts. Somebody said something about the detent cable. anyone know whats going on??? Thanks

Sounds like you need a TV cable adjustment, there is a tech article on how to do it.

My first trans acted like that; no TV adjustment could fix it. I'd just let up on the gas until it shifted into third. The problem was fixed when that trans died and I had it rebuilt... you're right, it sucks for racing!
