Steve Spohn makes a crossmember and a torque arm to bolt in a powerglide, don't know what else you'd need though.

why the heck do you want to put a powerglide in. they are only 2 speed. you would be way better off with even a th350 than you would a 'glide.

yeah and monkeys with red socks wearing spanish sombreros fly out of my butt too. what are the odds of him having a 6 second 84 berlinetta? can you comprehend 6 seconds in a doorslammer? that is fast, if his car was that fast, i would have read about it somewhere. if he could afford a 6 second car he would have a lenco or a 'glide already. the odds of him having a 6 second berlinetta are about the same as me runnin a 13 sec. 1/4 mile time on my bicycle.

I hope this trend catches on... I have a slip-and-slide Powerglide in my 66 Caprice that I need to get rid of. Hey! I'll trade somebody for a nice long-tail Turbo 400. Hello, anyone? Bueller?

It is easy! Just open the deck lid and throw it in!

Use it if you have the car weight down to @2500LBS and a real high revver. Otherwise, a 700 makes a nice tranny for this car. In fact, you may even have one now!

I'm probably going to ditch the TH350 before the end of this season and install a PG. I need one with a trans brake and at least a 4500 stall converter.

Best results before the 383 blew up
Best ET on a time slip: 11.857 altitude corrected to 11.163
Best MPH on a time slip: 117.87 altitude corrected to 126.10
Altitude corrected rear wheel HP based on power to weight ratio: 476.5
Best 60 foot: 1.662

Racing at 3500 feet elevation but most race days it's over 5000 feet density altitude!

If you are running a t-350 now, you will need to make a few other changes with the glide. The shifter for one, most do not do both, but some do. As stated, you will need more convertor and more rear gear with a glide. The first gear ratio is numerically higher than a t-350. The extra convertor and rear gear over come this. All in all, I love the glide. Built right, they are bullet proof.

Ragin86....The reason for a PG is the strength of it...only 2 gears can also be better if it is built right...one of the reason many people run them is because they only have to shift once and they pull in first gear forever thus giving u better accelaration and less lost time for shifting...I think your right though why mess with a slip and slide in a third gen..Im runnin a ZZ4 against my 700R4 and it has held fine

yeah i know why they put 'glides in serious drag cars, i've been around. i didn't expect his car to be that fast. when he said berlinetta i thougth some stock slug with an LG4. a 'glide behind a stock 305 would be the slowest car on the road. but if he as actually runnin the number, he may need one.
