swap 700R4 to TH 350
swap 700R4 to TH 350
Hey guys I'm new to the boards but I was wondering what you guys thought about swapping a 700 for a 350. I am running a 383 with around 400 to 450hp in my 92 camaro and I burnt the 3-4 clutches up in the 700. I have talked to a few rebuilders and they have different opinions about the 700. I was wondering what you guys thought about rebuilding the 700 or swapping to the 350. The car is driven quite a bit on the street but also bracket raced. Thanks

Wow! A first post! Welcome!
If you drive it much at all on the street, and fuel mileage is of any concern, which we all are now! I'd reccomend building a 700. The other guys can give you more details, but there are several things you can do to make a 700 nearly bulletproof. That's what I'm gonna do for my ZZ430.
Good Luck!

Working on:
'84 Z28 LG4 305 with 200,000 original miles!
Added dual elec fans.
145 MPH IROC Speedo
Building 430 HP 350 (ZZ430)
using primarily GMPP parts.
Short block sitting on a stand. (Man, those Fast-Burn heads sitting on it look good!)
Starting to look like the Kicker poster child!
