70-73 Camaro shifter
70-73 Camaro shifter
Has anyone tried installing a shifter from a 70-73 Camaro? The kind I'm talking about is the one that has two chrome sides connected by a black handle at the top that you would "squeeze"to move shifter into gear.I think with a custom panel on the console this would look "wicked hardcore". Does anyone have one of these for sale so i can try it?
Re: 70-73 Camaro shifter
My brother had a '70 Z28 with a TH400 and the shifter that you are talking about. I made a custom gate for it so that he could pull it back in first and then just hit it to change gears. Worked pretty good. They are called horse shoe shifters. You can probably find one on this sight. www.nastyz28.com

They also used those shifters in the 69's. My friend has one in his 69 RS, and I agree it would look great with the proper console mods. Almost makes me wish I had an auto in my Camaro so I could do that. Almost.
