Will this 700r4 work in my car
I picked up a 700r4 from an 86 Suburban 2wd, is there anything I need to do other than swap out the tail section to make it work. On the converter, how much difference will there be in the converter that came with and what came with my car factory, my trans is making all kinds of racket so I dont want to use my converter but I'm not against buying a new stock converter if needed.

Should work fine-i use one from an'85 caprice in mine
(with shift kit/servo upgrade) the suburban converter
might have different stall speed, but maybe not since
a lot of 2wd suburbans had 305s.I like to use good
aftermarket converters for the greater durability of the
furnace brazed fins.

you need to do a spline count-transmission to transmission on the input shafts, that way you know what you've got. the 85 will be a 27 spline and the 86 will be either a 27 or 30 depending on the build date of the unit. these factors determine torque converter selection as the converters don't interchange.

yes/both four pins.
don't forget to change your speedo gear on the output shaft if it is different, and the driven speedo gear. You might also need to retain your governor as it was calibrated for car gearing v.s. truck gearing. Just some random thoughts.
