to repair a a V-8 T5 with parts from a v-6 t5 ?
to repair or not to repair "that is the question" (w. shakespiare)
now for real, i have to repair my T5 V8 and all i have is a t5 v6 tranny, both are nwc.
the input shaft are diferent but everything else seems the same,
did somebody ever try this crazy thing? i have no money thats why i'm trying this "crazy" option, i also taught abaut using mobil jet oil to experiment.
turbine oils are synthetic and very resistent to enormous heat and pressures (like any jet engine)
please think about before calling me crazy.
thanks to all...

third gen muscle power is the only thing that can match the power of flight...

Most parts will interchange but the gear ratios are totally different. Because the V6 has so much less power, the ratios are different to take advantage of what is there.
I just tried to change OD gears from a V6 to V8 T5 and the inner diameters of the gears were different, so the output shaft was of a diff. diameter at that spot, and it didn't work.
Rotsa ruck.

You'll pretty much have to swap all the guts from the V8 unit into the V6 case; only the bearings, seals, and shifting mechanism are the same.
I'm running my 83's original V6 case with V8 internals from my old 84Z transmission.
