T-5 grinding into 2 and 3rd on hard acceleration.
It's a Borg Warner t-5 with about 120,000 miles on it, probably about 10,000 of which have been behind a 350. And i think it's dieing. whenever i get on it hard, no matter how slow i shift, it grinds into second and third gear. it doesn't do it everytime, probably about 3 out every 5 shifts. Is it the synchros? That's my first and only guess. I have absolutely no knowledge of transmissions beyond removing and installing them. If it is the synchros, how much am i looking at to have it rebuilt? I doubt i'd be able to do it myself. i'd much rather be replacing it with a t-56, but the funds just allow it right now.
So first does anyone know what could be wrong, and second, about how much is it gonna cost me?
thanks for your help

It could be the synchros and/or the gears itself. For prices you should call up local trans shops and ask.

Try changing the fluid first. Sometimes it works wonders on trannys. Fill it up with 3.5 quarts of good ole Dextron III ATF fluid. Payce!
