Okiedokie... I've got a stock 5 speed... what were the gearing options for 1983? I know L69 was 3.73 ... but were LG4 5speeds 3.73 as well?? or were they just an option at that point...

I've looked through a few things and as far as I can figure they're all 3.73's ...

another question, anyone know the #'s on how many were posi and how many weren't?

 

IIRC most of the LG4s I've seen have been 3.23s. I'm not sure if it was possible to order 3.73s with the base motor.

No idea on the posi question. My HO car's wasn't.

It's very simple to pop the rear cover and look, that's what I'd do, anything else including code markings, etc. can be wrong if somebody has been inside it.
