9-Bolt Throwing out fluid; Why??
I changed out my gears on my 9-bolt posi and went through all the seals/bearings/etc.
Ever since I did that, it pushes out the gear oil out that little breather tube. I'm not running the car hard or doing multiple burn-outs. But the rear of my car gets coated with gear lube within 300 miles. Any ideas??? Nitro-Nicky

Re: 9-Bolt Throwing out fluid; Why??
After the first time, I went and had one of the best shops in my area go through it all. Sure enough; it tossed out the fluid thru that little vent and burned up the posi cones and such. They tried to blame me initially, thinking I had gone to a oil/lube drive-thru that didn't put enough gear lube back in. They ended up having to rebuild it again. Since it's still doing the same thing I thought I'd check here before going back to the shop again.
It's a good question about using the correct amount of gear lube, but I am being really careful since it's an issue that keeps repeating...... Nitro
