To do it correctly, you need a gear puller/press, bearing splitter, a depth micrometer, dial-gauge, if those are special enough.

kool deal. well they are special enough, i dont have any but i have access to all of it and eventually will have my own. thanx much.
Re: T-5 build
I've built a bunch of the T5 transmissions and the press, bearing seperator and a set of 6 inch dial calipers is all the special tools that I remember needing. You'll need some snap ring pliers too. Contact Rockland Standard Gear for a rebuild manual.

Re: T-5 build
thanx much guys. my 89 came with a .73 final drive and when it started going south i found another 5 from a fella parting out his 89 IROC, his car got the .63 final gear and brother let me tell ya that thing is sloppy compaired to my .73 final case.
NO umph what so ever in 5th and i miss that. iv got a few sources for gears so thats no sweat. a friend went thru his 56 and said a 5 cant be all that hard compaired to a 56.

Re: T-5 build
All i remember was needing a press and snap-ring pliers. perhaps this is why my transmission has been leaking lately. However, the rebuild was 5 years ago now
