Tranny Swap
Tranny Swap
Well I just got my car back this week. Had the 200th swapped for the 700r4, and I believe it's been the best thing I've done to the car. I'm crusing at 75 and my tack is barley passing 2.5. It's a great feeling that I still have alot left on the throttle. The only thing I've noticed lately is that the car will stall from time to time. I just changed a dirty air filter so maybe that will stop. As for what was needed for the swap this is what I had to get other then a good 83 700r4 for my 82 z28:
Shortened drive shaft, Torque arm, Tranny mount, TV Cable, Factory Shift cable (aftermarket ones were to weak wrecked 2 of them), shifter system from a donor that had overdrive. Because it was a 83 the pug from the 200th fit right in no problem. But will probably also put in a converter lock up kit.
Thanks for all the guys who sent in info.
By the way the total job including labor and parts cost just under $600. Worth every dime!
