how do u get this damn thing off???

how do u get this damn thing off???

the metal frame structure that accompanies the drive shaft from the tranny to the rear.....how do i get the tranny part off?....it looks complicated..

I think you remove the two bolts at the rear end, tap it off the rear end housing and it should pull out of the trans bushing. It's been a while since I've taken one off. Be sure the crossmember is in or there is a jack under the trans to be safe.

Uh....NOT!

On the top of the torque arm mount (thats what that metal thing is) at the trans is a bolt. Remove that bolt, hold on to the end of the arm and the arm will go up and rest against the tranny tunnel if you have the rear axle on stands. It will come down to the ground if the stands are under the subframe. I suggest stands under the axle. Just remember that there is some force behind the arm when you remove the bolt, so hold on tight.

Sorry about that, it's been a while since I owned a camaro and I changed the whole rear in it once, if I still had it I would have went out and checked before posting, generally I like to help with drive train questions because I have two vehicles that have the same drivetrain as most of you have.
As for the 727, not the tranny on that one, I only know GM's. It comes from a combination of numbers from my birthday. There are too many plain Jay's out there.
