No reverse.. Seems like it's in reverse and park at the same time? 700R4
Hey guys, I was getting my frame straightened at a really good shop here in windsor, my car is going in for paint tommorow and I'm having a major problem..
After straightening the front right wheel, they brought it out for a drive to see how the alignment was. After bringing it back in, and adjusting the wheel some more, the car no longer would go into reverse.. My original take was the linkage was out, so I went and checked it out.. It almost felt like when putting it into park, it is in reverse, it doesn't let you rev it up at all. It feels like it's being bogged down by something, like being in gear..
So, I went under, and checked the linkage, pulled off the cable, and pushed it, and it clicked, like it went into place.. put the shift cable back on, and it went back to doing what it had already..
I drove the car home, it shifts fine, the fluid didn't smell burnt. I just don't have reverse... I have to fix this tonight, or it will be a pain in the **** to paint the car tommorow.. Oh yea, I'm running a B&M shift kit. That's all.. Thanks!

What was the cause to have to have the frame straightened?
Any rearend shift, pushing the driveshaft forward, damaging the tranny internals, causing a Reverse problem?

It was the front right, the wheel was pushed back 1". I discovered that the shift linkage cable had a damaged portion where it snaps in at the top. We repaired this, put it back in, and the same problem occurs.. Drive in all gears, even neutral.. Park seems to want to move forward, aswell..
