Which size tranny cooler to use when bypassing radiator??

I read a really good post not too long ago about tranny coolers-which one to get and why you should bypass the radiator but I cant find it now. If I am going to bypass the radiator do I get the biggest one B&M makes-not the Supercooler but the next to largest one, I think its the 24,000lbs. GVW which is 11" x 6" x 1.5". B&M also makes on that is bigger but is smaller in GVW. It is 19,000lbs GVW and is 11" x 7.5" x 3/4". Which one do I get?? Im assuming they come with everything I need to make it work. Thanks.

I have the 24K version and i run it through the rad. I love it, the trans now runs at 125 deg around town. Why do you want to bypass the rad?

I mentioned in the previous post that I read a really good post about why you should bypass the radiator. The guy really knew what he was talking about and there were some other guys backing him up. I wish I could find that post. Thanks for the reply though.

It just depends on what B&M says come with, Vague yea. Some kits come with all the accesories and some dont. The smaller one should work fine, Your not pulling a 28ft trailer with your fbody right?
The cooler can be mounted on the inside of the radiator "if you have standard belt driven fan" just find where you want to place it and cut a 1in x 3in slot to allow the cooler lines, I find a good place to cut is 1,1/2 inch down from where to top conects to the bottem of the shroud passenger side. You want to kinda keep the cooler to the side to allow the fan to do its job. there are 3 benifits to using an aftermarket cooler. 1. the transmition usualy runs cooler. 2. up to a quart more fluid can be used. 3. The water temp usualy drops 15/20degres.

Thanks for the reply. I went ahead and ordered the largest cooler by B&M, not the supercooler though. I read in that post I have been looking for that you want the largest one. I dont have the belt fan, mines electric so I guess I will have to mount it in front of the AC condenser, I guess thats what it is. Hopefully everything will work right. Thanks again.

I used a super cooler and and a electric fan on the cooler bypassed the radiator cooler and ran custom teflon braided lines from the tranny to the cooler it looked great had a few flaws but nothing I am not working out now. Its kind of the expensive way to go but very affective. I have had this setup for about a month now and its workin great. If you have any questions just ask.
