Im looking for a torsen posi unit and ive seen several 4th gens in junk yards around here. Is there a way i can tell, axle code or pro code, if the car has one of these units before taking the cover bolts off the rear?

Zexels were only installed in SS and Firehawk models. The Zexel seems neat, but according to the guys on www.ls1tech.com, are weaker than the Auburns. I can tell you from experience that the Auburns should be good for well over 130,000 miles. These should be in any factory-V8 fourth gen that isn't an SS or Firehawk. Better yet, start with a standard differential and install a conversion-style locker.
