Im going to the junk yard saturday. They have several 4th gens there but i want to buy the highest gear i can. What model/year/options to look for. I tried to do a search but just finding how to's. I was hoping to find something to print out like we have for our cars in The Technical DATA. It has the year/trans/motor/gear.
Any Info would be appreciated for the camaro/Firebird.

The highest rear end gears that were available in 4th gens was a 3.42 & that was only in the 6 speeds, if you got a 6 speed you got 3.42's, automatics came stock with 2.73's optional was 3.23's, that was as high as it went from the factory

 

Also look for a 99+ car. These cars ( TA, Firehawk, Z-28, SS ) were equiped from the factory with the Zexel Diff.

 

No havent tried 4thGen yet i'm not a member and didnt want my introduction to be a question lol. There were only 3 Options for them years.. I thought there would be 4 or maybe 5. BUt thats what i was going to look for was a higher model firebird or camaro. I thought a v6 car would have a higher gear then most, Is that right?
