Tranny swap

I blew my transmission the other day and was wondering how much it would cost to convert it to a 5 speed O/D? If anyone knows, give me a yell. I also was wondering how hard it would be to convert it from a turbo 350 to a 700R4? All info on tranny swaps would be much appreciated!

P.S. It is for a small block chev V8 that has a turbo 350 on it right now!

Thanx!

Matt.
The TH350 is a lot shorter then the 700R4. If it is overdrive you are looking for I would go with a 2004R. The problem with the 200 though is it can't take the abuse that a 700 can unless it is built right. On the upside you won't have to worry about shortening your drive shaft.

As for the the T5 swap, I would recommend that you research the archives. I don't know much about it, but there are a lot of topics on it.

The 2004R is the stronger of the two. There are many more 2004R's running in the 9's & 10's than 700R4's. I build quite a few 2004R's & 700R4's and the 2004R is the better of the two to use in a retrofit where a TH350 came out. It is the same length. You will need to use the cross member that fits the TH400. You will need a TV cable and brackets to finish the setup. Spohn, I hear carries these parts.
Hope This Helps!!!

Umm..that is interesting. You are the first person I have heard say that since I was planning on doing the swap on my Monte Carlo. I have been researching both.

I have seen the 2004R standup to a lot more abuse.
