started doin my T56 swap, have questions...
Well i started doing my t56 swap and have a couple of questions. Well, 1 question right now. I pulled put the brake booster, and right below it, theres a hole stamped out already. This is a 1986 iroc, that was automatic. Is this the location of were the stock master cylinder would be? If it is, Im using 4th gen pedals and master cylinder, so do I just use that hole?

one way to double check it would be to bolt the pedals in and then drill the clu master cylinder holes where the pedal braces meet the firewall. Good call on the 4th gen pedals. I had trouble at first when I was using 3rd gen ones.

alright I got that all done. Wasnt that bad. For anyone that does this, I found by dropping the steering column ( 2 15MM bolts) made it extremly easy to get to the top 2 brake booster bolts. On to the pilot bearing....does that installed so it bottoms out in the crankshaft, or does it get installed to its flush with it.

Should be flush with the stepped lip of the crank. If you have a bearing, it should have the small seal towards the outside of the crank.

alright cool....thats How I had it. I put the clutch togather, slapped the bellhousing on. When i went to bolt the tranny to the bellhousing, there was about a 1/8 gap, I couldnt get it to line up. I ended using the 8 bolts that connect the 2 to draw it in. Im just wondering if i didnt have the clutch disc lined up perfect.

If you only had 1/8" gap, then you were already past the clutch splines, probably just friction on the dowels.

exactly the same output shaft. If it doesn't fit, then someone may have changed the yoke on the driveshaft, the DS is actually not from a 700r4/T5 thirdgen, you have a viper-spec T56, or the splines are twisted on either the yoke or T56 outputshaft..
