Tranny Overheating?
The transmission hump is always hot to the touch when I drive it. I've checked the fluid many times and it's right where it should be. I don't mean burning hot, but just hot to the touch. Is this normal? It shifts just fine and isn't throwing any codes or making any weird sounds. It's been this way since I bought it 1 1/2 years ago. I've ridden in a lot of automatic cars and never seen this before. It's a 700-R4 by the way.

I think it's normal because all the heat from the whole engine compartment can travel down the underside of the tunnel as you drive.
I drive a ford ranger with a five speed and the floor gets too hot to touch most of the time. Heat rises also, from the exaust, etc.
Just to be sure pull the trans dipstick, there should be no varnish on it, if there is it may be overheating.
