Pro Ratchet (B&M) Gear Selector is loose!
Anyone else have an issue with the gear selector B&M Racing provides with their shifters?
My issue is as follows I removed the nut off the transmission gear selector, removed the stock linkage bracket, put the new one on and it doesn't fit snug. There is about a 1/4" play in the swing both ways. It's hard to describe but basically the transmission selector is cut to be square shape so the bracket won't spin or wiggle. The B&M one has the same shape but seems to be about 1/8" to 1/4" cut to big. It's affecting my adjustment since the bracket swings in shift. After about 8 different adjustments as described in the instructions I have all the gears downshifting correctly but OD to Neutral is off on the upshift it hits the reverse lockup on the shifter.
I've narrowed it down to this being the issue as I tried the same bracket on another 700-R4 I had in the garage and it had the same issue. I called the Tech Support for B&M Racing and after speaking with about 4 people I was informed it was my issue because there all just press stamped and there wasn't anything they could do about it. I was told to just shim it with washers. Nice support for paying $220 for a shifter... anyways
Does anyone have a solution? I was thinking about cutting the OEM bracket and seeing if I could mount both the B&M and OEM bracket on the transmission and get enough threads to get the nut back on. In that case I could just have a local welding shop put a few beads on the two brackets so they won't come apart.
Ideas?

I'm still having issues with this. I had to clean the garage out over the weekend so I could actually work in it. Last night I finally was able to jack my car up and pull the bracket back off to compare. Has anyone else incountered issues like this?

Must not only be me... found a user at this forum with the same issue. http://www.pro-touring.com/forum/showthread.php?t=52731
I think I have solved mine though. I ended up cutting the OEM bracket and using it as a spacer between the new bracket and the nut. That allowed it to bolt up solid without pivoting on the shaft. I believe I have it adjusted too. I'll probably get to test it tomorrow.
