Clutch Question
Clutch Question
Can a hydraulic clutch setup out of a 5 speed manual tranny be adapted to 4 speed manual tranny? I would like to retain the hydraulic setup out of my 89 5 speed when I convert to an 82 4 speed. Any help would greatly be appreciated.

Yes it all bolts right up. The trans does not care, they are all the same.
Right now I have a bell housing from a 84; 91 trans; & hydraulics from a 92 in my 83. I swapped the hydrauliocs into it (original linkage setup car) several years ago, then got the 91 trans about 3 years ago, then had to change out the hydraulics about this time last year, and the dealer didn't have the one the book showed for the 84 in stock, for some reason the book shows several different ones... AFAIK they all fit the same... I just bought what they had on hand which happened to be the 92 one, works like a charm and fits the car better than the 84 stuff did.
