gear swap 2.77 to 3.42 is it hard
ok i am gonna trade in my 2.77 with disks brakes for 3.42 drum off a v6 camaro will it be hard to put my disk brakes on instead of the drums that come on the 3.42 how hard of a job will it be .
Dude ,
It will be hell ! If you swap disc to disc,no prob but drum to disc ..... I donk know if you can buy a kit for that. I think you can but for the money you should be able to buy a used one with disc on it at a junk yard real cheep. You can also buy a ring and pinion for about $300 with the install kit. It should be alot easyer that way.

Agreed; I spent over $600 putting a 3.73/posi/disc axle under my car. For $600, I could've gotten 3.73 gears installed to my old 3.42/open/drum axle...

Uhm.... no you cant use a 10-bolt gear and carrier into a 9-bolt rear end. They are incompatible.
