4L60e are electronic and have to be run by a computer. The 86-87 Grand nationals didn't have computerized trans so that might be a problem. I have a 91 4L60 for a V6 Camaro if your interested in it. Make a good deal on it. Ran good til car was totaled. I bought the car for the wheels and 3:42 rearend. brian@bharris.org

I'm pretty sure that the TTA used the 200-4R tranny. I don't know if it was because of size (wouldn't fit the tunnel?) reasons, or if it's because of the smaller difference in ratio between 1st and 2nd gear. The 200-4R might've "outperformed" the 700r4 trans in acceleration tests...??

The 200-4R is better suited to keeping the Turbo spinning once it starts.

Is it a bolt-pattern issue too? Does the 700R4 even fit the Buick V6?

No it does not fit the BPO block but that is not the issue. The 200-4R has a closer gear ratio pattern than the 700 does and it would likely drop the turbo off after the 1-2 shift if you tried to use it.
