Can a TV cable adjustment problem affect your REVERSE gear?

My friends tranny slips in almost all gears. And when put it in REVERSE and press the accelerator, the engine just revs and the car very slowly backs up (no matter how hard you press the gas). Could this be a TV cable adjustment? Or is this definitely a tranny change?

The tv cable controls line pressure for shift points, I don't believe it has anything to do with reverse, but I could be wrong.

The TV Cable has a dual purpose. What it really does is sends throttle position to the VB. That info in turn is used to bothe delay shift points AND raise pressure as more throttle is added.

As to your problem, is there ANY problem in Forward? Try putting it in manual low at @25 MPH while coasting. If it doesn't pull down hard then your Low/Reverse Clutches are going out. If that works fine then your Reverse Inputs clutches are the culprit (they only work in reverse).

It has this problem in FWD (all gears) too. I will try to adjust the TV cable for him 2nite. But I doubt it will work.
