l know this is the stupid way that GM designed their transmissions, but is there anyway around this thats free, or atleast fairly inexpensive thats doesnt require chip burning?

B&M has a nice little part that cures this. #70237 and is $34 from Jegs. The car I have had it and a 2200 stall Corvette convertor installed in the early 90's. But with the 2.77 rear end, I've never had the room to test it out.

93 Civic 1.6L
13.5 @ 100 mph

That part (the Throttle Plunger) doesn't always do what people want. The correct part is the Police package 3-4 TV Valve Assy. If you find a good Chevy dealer they should be able to come up with a number for you. No it isn't free though.

The GM part no. is 8673948. If you do install this part you will have to recalibrate the governor and the 3-4 shift timing spring because it will go into overdrive to early and bog down the motor.
