Tranny problem, 700R4.
Well I have a question.
I have a delay from park to drive/OD about 3-4 secs, from park to reverse it's pretty much perfect, also if i slide the shifter quick from park to 1st it engages quick as well.
I'm not really sure why there is a delay from park to drive/OD, bad thing about this is, is people who have tried to drive my car, don't know about it, and hit the gas before it engages, it makes a pretty bad grinding noise. I hate having to remind them to wait for the delay going from park to drive.
I honestly am the only one to drive it usually, but it's simply annoying and I want it to be perfect, other than that, the tranny seems to work and shift as normal, also, if i want to pop it in neutral and rev the engine, then back to drive, it's a delay as well, however not so much at higher speeds.
I thought it might be a shift cable issue, but the tranny has never been messed with as far as I know.
I'm also not sure when the fluid was changed last, it looks ok.
Also, I'm not sure if the tv cable adjustment applies here, but at WOT, the cable seems to be extended fully and very firm, so thats fine.

I've found this delay to be the case with every one of my 700R-4s and 4L60Es. I hope noone says anything to the contrary, because that would mean I've been living with this unnecessarily.

Right now my daily driver is an '06 Sierra 1500, I got it used with just 47,000 miles on it, immediately did a (4L60E) trans filter, but the old filter and fluid, which proved to be the originals, showed no indications of needing replacement. It has about a 4-5 second delay from park to drive. Other than that, it's perfect, whether towing a trailer or running to the store.
