Tranny works fine now - But car pulls weakly...
Hey everybody,
I finally finished my first epic tranny swap and everything works. Today however when I took my car out for a ride it pulled very poorly. I am trying to think what I adjusted that would make it lose power. Could the TV cable be responsible for this?
Also its a mildly modded 86 LB9 but at the moent it has nothing after the Y-Pipe. Could the lack of engine back-pressure casue sucha a big power loss or is this just a cable adjustment problem?
Thanks for the help,
-Max

AS far as the tranny goes you are limited to a slip (but you would hear the RPM's go up W/O proper acceleration), wrong gear starts (but you would be able to override that with the lever) or the wrong selection of Torque Converter. If you have too low of a stall for your combo the car will be a slug until you reach the power band and then it will pick up. Other than that it is all an engine issue. I should point out that with an engine problem you cannot judge the proper stall speed as A)it WON'T stall as high due to power loss and B)you would not be using the correct engine operation in making the decision.
