How much power could this axle handle?

I just bought an axle for my car and was wondering if anybody could give me an idea of how much power it should be able to hold up against. It is a GM 10 bolt rear, with an Auburn Pro Posi unit, Precision Performance ring and pinion gears, Moser axles, and a stud gurdle cover. Any guesses?

Re: How much power could this axle handle?

That's a heavily weighted question. It should be fine for your car with the mods listed in your sig. I wouldn't want it behind a 383 on slicks. Traction is what kills rears, not power. On a normal street car the tires will light up long before the rear will break. If your WC T5 is stock don't powershift it or it will break too.

Re: How much power could this axle handle?

All the goodies including the aftermarket axle will help but the tiny ring and pinion is always the weakest part of the diff.

Cars have broken the teeth off on the street and others have survived 11 second passes on the track with no problems. You're rolling the dice as to how much power it can take.
