i searched through the old posts and found a few part #'s for the 3-4 upshift valve. what i found was 8673948 which i know is supposed to be the upshift valve and the .500 boost valve. i also found 8639164 and 8634940 which are listed as a spring and a boost valve. in another post the contents of 8673948 are listed and it includes a spring and a boost valve. what i need to know is if those 2 extra parts are included in 8673948.

I believe all you need is the upshift valve, the boost valve .500 controls the line pressure at making it higher to firm up shifts, it has nothing to do with being in OD at high speeds.

In the kit pn 8673948 I received a pan gasket,two valvebody gaskets, one .475 boost valve w/ bushing set and a 3-4 tv bushing w/ valve. The .500 boost valve is a aftermarket part.Hope this helps.

 

Does anyone know what year the gaskets are from. Are they prior to 87 or after? I have an '86 therefore don't have an aux valvebody. Will I need a gasket set or can I use the ones included?

It is a .422 boost valve, not .475.
