timing or tranny

ok this is my problem: i have a 1984 camaro berlinetta.everything was just fine a month ago i drove it to n.c and the timing chain went. After installing the chain i drove the car back to ny.i figured it wasent driving like it use to b/c the timing was off.
so i had the engine timed,But the problem is, ever since then its like i have a bad tranny. For example if im driving normal u cant tell the difference but when i step on it the car goes no where,i mean it use to just take off leaving tire smoke behind and now i feel like im in a tempo.i took the car to ammco transmision, they put in another tranny but when i got the car out the shop it still had the same exact problem. So i took the car back and had a second tranny put into the car,got it out and still the same problem i mean when i floor it i hear the engine trying to take off,its like the engine sounds like im doin 80 but im only goin 35.
i've been told it was a vacum module on the tranny but the loser at ammco is telling me that my tranny does not have a vacum and that its electronic.does ur tranny have the vacum?is it possible that the timing chain is in wrong and could be causing all of this?do u know anyone who has had a problem like this before.
the motor is a 305 5.0L and the tranny is a 700r4 please give me all the advice you can!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

They're right, there's no vacuum modulator on the 700R4, the TV cable combines the functions of the kickdown cable and vacuum modulator.

By "had the engine timed" do you mean they timed the ignition or the cam? If the timing chain was installed incorrectly it will affect the valve timing, not the ignition timing.
