Ok...hooking up a TC lockup switch today...i have a question!!
can i just leave the TC switch ON(meaning locked up all the time)
Here is my situation...i'm having a problem with hitting closed loop...i think my O2 sensor is shot or i need a heated one(i have headers). Since i'm not hitting closed loop my TC isn't locking up(from what i understand it won't lockup in open loop). So with that said i'm slowly cooking my tranny to death. This switch is temporary until i can figure out the open loop/closed loop problem. Can i just leave the switch in the lockup position all the time? This will keep the TC locked in gears 2/3/OD right? I read Ed's write up on this...should i use a 2 or 3 prong switch? Thanks guys!!!!!!

If you want a nicer way of doing it, the 4th gear switch grounds the B pin on the TCC connector to tell the ECM when the transmission is in O/D, and the ECM locks the TCC by grounding the D pin. Just put a wire between the 2 pins and you'll have automatic lockup in 4th.

Actually fly, i had to use my switch driving up tp penn state one time, my CTS went out so the TCC wasn't locked. No good w/ a heavy load on a long mountain highway drive, so i just locked it up while i was at speed.
Much more convenient than using the 4th gear circuit, that can be a pita cuz then it is always locked in OD
