A PITA! A 700r4 is a bit cheaper to install.
A turbo 350 would pop right in there!

I looking for more driveabilty then anything else. Thats why i like the 700r4. Can i get one outa any truck/Van or does it have to be another v8 f-body? Also would i have to change my driveshaft?

I'm not really sure about the driveshaft but you shouldn't have too get a new one. If you do, just go to a junk yard and pickup a $30 f-body driveshaft (pretty sure you won't have too). The TH700r4 should go right in but I'd like to know how you plan on shifting it. Good luck

Yep you need a drive shaft and a shifter.
Any "besides 2.8 or 4x4" 700r4's will work.
The shifter and the drive shaft will run you a good $80-100 and if you want a fairly easy swap get the crossmember for a 700r4 $20.
Ive swaped a 350 for my 700r4 the reverse process of what your doing and now am doing the same swap you are in my other fbody so my parts price quotes are fairly accurate and make for an easy swap.

Plans: Possibly add N20 for next season.
82 Firebird, 305/350 currently moth balled.
Current plans: Rebuild 305 with flat tops instead of the dished "cups" for pistons or slightly built 327 with the 58cc heads from the LG4, Upgrade the 2:73 to 3:73 or 3:42 and replace the turbo 350 with 700r4.
