4th gen rear installed

Hi, I just installed my "99" 4th gen rear and its a 3.23 disc. Rear works great and my braking is alot better than before,I hope! I used to have the 2.73 drum brakes and I'm still using the same proportion valve for drums and seems to be working fine, does anybody think I'll have problems being the valve is for drum brakes. And my second question is I feel my speedometer is off, can anyone tell me what speedo gear I would need for this swap. I looked at the tech article for gears but its way above my head. and also, my tranny feels different shifting (Auto 88 5.0 TPI) since I installed the rear. Almost feelings like its shifting too soon and a little harsh and the O.D. doesn't seem to kick in sometimes. I didn't have these problems before. I sure would appreciate the input. Thanks.

Probably cuz your transmission thinks it's going at a speed that it's not and it's shifting accordingly, but that's my guess. You defintely have to recalibrate your speedo and maybe it'll get back to normal.

Go over to www.sethirdgen.org There is an awsome rear end swap article that i used when i did mine. It gives you some great instructions on how to remove the speedo gears. I HIGHLY recommend you get the 32mm wrench, i didn't and ended up breaking the drive gear putting it back on.

*edit* put the wrong website in!!... twice!
